Two weeks

Two weeks from today, I'll be on a plane headed to El Salvador!

I can barely believe it and can hardly wait!

A few significant events that led to this trip...

In 9th grade, I took my first Spanish class and was captivated by the language.

In high school, I found my sister's discarded Ricky Martin CD "Vuelve" and I fell in love with the music of Latin America.

In college, I learned how to samba, rumba, cha cha and brushed up on my salsa, and haven't stopped.

Along the way, I realized that my ideal travel experience wasn't running around museums or admiring beautiful architecture.

I'd rather work and live and play like the locals do.

This summer I will be volunteering with HELP International in El Salvador, building, planting, teaching, and most of all, learning that the world is so much bigger than 50 states.

And this is where I'll tell you all about it.
